Privacy Policy
Mutual is designed for unusually private communication between two adults. We collect only what is needed to operate and secure one shared space.
Information Mutual processes
Mutual processes your email address, display name, authentication records, couple membership, shared timezone, notification preferences, device push token, invitation status, and verified purchase or beta-access status. It also processes the current shared day's interest signal, nudge, and mood choices so the app can show the correct state on both partners' phones.
Information Mutual does not collect
Mutual does not request contacts, precise location, photos, microphone, advertising identifiers, public posts, read receipts, last-seen status, or a relationship activity history. Mutual does not sell personal information and does not use private relationship activity for advertising or analytics.
How information is used and shared
Information is used to authenticate accounts, pair exactly two people, synchronize the current shared state, send notifications chosen by the receiving partner, verify purchases, prevent abuse, and provide support. The minimum required technical data is processed by Supabase for authentication and database services, Expo for push delivery, Apple and RevenueCat for purchases, and the website hosting provider for delivery and security. Private signal or mood names are not sent to analytics or crash-reporting services.
Visibility between partners
Your private interest selection is visible only to you unless both partners select interest for the same shared day, or you deliberately send a nudge. Shared moods are shown according to Mutual's in-app rules. Public invitation pages never display either partner's private state.
Retention and deletion
Daily signals, moods, nudges, matches, and notification-delivery records are deleted on a short operational schedule, currently seven days. Invitation security-attempt records are retained for one day, and purchase-webhook operational records for up to 90 days. Account and couple records remain until deletion or dissolution is requested. You can permanently delete your account in Mutual under Settings. Deletion dissolves the active couple, removes current private state and push tokens, and removes the associated RevenueCat customer record.
Security, choices, and age
Mutual uses row-level database controls, single-use hashed invitation credentials, authenticated server functions, rate limits, and encrypted transport. You may disable notifications in Mutual or iOS Settings, restore purchases, unpair, or delete your account. Mutual is intended only for people age 18 or older.
